Rose above the rest by far.
First, let me state that I want this to be a right-from-the-heart review. Not an ordinary "Oh, good job" review.
At first, I thought the audio completely threw the whole mood of this movie off. I expected a dark, industrial type of score. And, frankly, Jebus reloading the TAC was a little choppy, but that can be understood due to a lack of versatile sprites.
Next, I want to congratulate you on the time/ action pacing. Even though this dragged on at the beginning, the action gradually got higher and higher. Once it rose, it didn't fall back down again. I noticed, too, that the physics were different. There was a lot more momentum in this one. Jebus moved diofferently, too. Rather than simply staying is place like he did in MC1-5, when he flew, he carried on much more with his momentum. Kinda like a little flashback to Madness Interactive. The lazor eyes were a shock. That's the wrong way to fire a lazor ;), but it still works. The evaporation look from the blasts were so realistic.
Artistically, you took an incredible turn. This is where my expectations, already through the roof, were overachieved. The detail in the crushed walls, the 3D effect, the blood, and the blasts. I noticed you used a lot of filters in this movie. When I get on a better computer, I'll be sure to appreciate those when my slow-ass laptop is lagging like hell. The fire from MC7 must've given you practice for the MM's head flames and disappearing acts. Those were incredibly well animated. Animationwise, you've really become very developed. Each character had their own style of fighting/ movements. To discriminate between those movements must be very painstaking to animate, rather that make them move all the same. My favorite pieces of animation were the elevator scene, the final explosion, and the minigun scene. The latter, being my favorite part of the animation. The cinematics in it were that of a virtuoso cameraman.
All in all, I believed this would be no bigger of a surprise than MC6 or MC7, but this was unbelievable. And I'm not saying this just to flatter you. This gave a catalyst to every old aspect of Madness and even gave a burst of energy to the new aspects of it. The ending was really a doomsday effect. Though it was kind of stupid for the Mystery Man to fire his rocket launcher right next to his computer, I'm sure it'll be used for some sort of plot twist. BTW, where was Hank at the end?
