Lol, good memories...

I remember how many revisions this went through and how it went from a children's choir tune to a nicely-shaped piece worthy of a cinematic production. You made like, five different versions of this by the time we settled on this one. I have the distinct image of sitting in the kitchen with my laptop reviewing this with my bro the night you belted this out. In my case, this song holds a bit of nostalgia.

I love the pacing in this. It's quick and tense, but also slow, somehow. I guess it's cause you got the quick hi-hat along with the crawling bass. That's also what gives it the unique feel, I think. The conflict of atmosphere between the rhythm and melody give this a very sneaky atmosphere (not to mention that the flute adds some degree of mischief).

I'm musically retarded, so hopefully you could get at what I was trying to convey. All in all, I think this is my favorite piece you've made for my cartoons, next to Precedence. By the way, what does R.E.D stand for, anyways?

ur too smart

Has a little more to live up to.

While you transcribed the melody very well, this remix did not fit my tastes. Mainly, it did not carry that epic feeling that the original possessed. Another aspect I did not like was the lack of flow. All the beats in this song are short and punctuated. Not of them, except the bass, are extended. This makes the song sound a little too choppy, which isn't really a great feel.

I don't want to give the impression that I think this is a bad song. Only those two points about it stuck out. Aside, it's great.

ya this was made when i first was learning about FL studio i had the demo version when i did this and was made using a midi file.... so has a remake.. its more of a reinstrumentation experiement.

Really rhythmic beat!

I like the feel of the acoustics in this. It makes it feel like the music's being played in a real echoey room. Very atmospheric.

Nostalgic!

A real Tomfitz techno classic. I can't believe it's almost two years ago that I bugged you to make this.

At first, I was like wtf...

I had no idea how something so simple and slow could fit into mc9. Then at :17, you add the drums and it becomes a little more interesting, but a little slow. Then :34 the bass line comes in. And finally, the tempo sounds like it picks up at :57. Seriously, you went from a dopey little melody to something very fitting of the car chases in MC9. However, if the intro of this song is gonna fit the car chase scene, the intro must either be slow or you gotta pick this up a bit.

I'd appreciate a response.

It all started as a little tune in my head and I tried to keep that hokey sound as much as I could before I turned it all crazy. I hope you like the full version! It definitely morphs into something a little more fitting.

Reminiscent of the MC7 Track

I am quite fond of songs that start out slow and classical, serving as a sort of contrast to the quicker parts. The transition from something more orchestral to something very drum and bass styled was excellent. I could picture a very Madnessy scene that this song could be utilized in. You have a gift.

10/10
