So while I was away at college, I, by some dumb luck, met another Flash animator who's got some pretty zany ideas going on. We got together and discussed collaborating with one another to do some pretty cool stuff. Our first project, we decided, would be to freshen up one of his older animations, a fledgling series called "Rockstar Jones." The first episode of which can be viewed here.
Needless to say, the episode is quite lacking. However, don't write it off just yet. Some Newgrounds series that started off mediocre at best managed to achieve high levels of quality as they progressed.
So, I took a look at the second episode's script, spiced up the character design, and went straight to work with animating. Dan (a.k.a. Stormgardens), the animator that I met, will be handling the dialogue portions of the animation while I'm putting together a short fight scene and doing some fine-tuning of whatever parts he's done. This animation is done completely by tweens. I've designed each character so that they can be "rigged" and animated by moveable joints (which, although it can be quite hairy, is not as entirely terrible as I originally imagined it to be).
We're also enlisting the help of various musicians and voice actors (some of whom you may know and others whom you may not) in order to make this the best-quality toon we can produce. We don't expect it to be perfect, but we hope it will be a pretty big hit. So keep up-to-date with our progress as we draw nearer to releasing Episode 2 of Rockstar Jones.
Oh, and Dan has a website, too. Check it out!
