Well, probably not. But I plan on making this a memorable collab and hopefully one of the best, if not the best, Madness collabs to date. I took it upon myself to check out some collabs and scout out the best Madness animators I could find. I plan on making this collab different because I'm featuring artists that have exceptional skill with animating Madness, as well as some big names on NewGrounds. Nothing less than the best. Think of this as an All-Star collab.
Here is the list of those that I've invited and responded thus far:
DIMB (proposal pending; 6th in roster)
Delamortes (proposal complete; 1st in roster)
Tr3Yo (proposal complete; 2nd in roster)
ThaMan42 (proposal compete; 8th in roster)
RicePirate (a.k.a. SEXY VOICE MAN)
Scorcherz (proposal complete; 5th in roster)
IeRaptor (proposal pending; 7th in roster)
LYRONMARTIS (a.k.a. the dude who made Madness Preloaded, YUSSSS) (4th on roster)
If you see your name on the list above, read everything from here on out very carefully. There are two important guidelines along which this collab will follow.
1) This will be a relay flash. In other words, each artists' part will be directly related to the preceding and succeeding parts. The loose "plot" will also be a relay of sorts. Each artist's part will feature their signature character carrying a mysterious package, fighting off a set of guards and such, suddenly becoming incapacitated, and then dropping aforementioned package. At this point, the next artist would continue the cycle.
2) As I said, I'm not looking for a subpar animation. If something does not come out good, don't be afraid to erase frames and re-animate it. In fact, if something comes out a little funky, you MUST change it - no if's, and's, or but's. Make everything as realistic-looking as possible.
3) If you have a particular style of Madness, use your own sprites instead of Krinkels'. I'll allow for creative liberties.
4) Leave a comment on this so I know you're in.
REQs:
-550 x 400 pixel stage
-30 fps
-Black Background
-All symbols must be named after their respective owners and put in one overarching folder. (e.g. "alphanuva_symbolname" would be found in folder "Alpha-Nuva.").
-If you have a heavy workload coming up, I won't mind a short piece. But if it's possible, try for at least a 15 second animation.
If I've forgotten any vital information, please PM me or leave a comment so that I may correct it. Also, any name suggestions? I've got a couple, but I want to see what you guys come up with.
EDIT: Here is what the movie's going to look like. Just a sequence of baton passes by which the characters are trying to get the package to its intended destination. Remember though, you have lots of space to mess around in. You COULD do a basic run 'n' gun. OOOOOOOOORrrrr, you could spice it up and add something that hasn't been showcased in Madness before.
Also, in order to have some consistency, I suppose we're using the usual Nevada backgrounds - mountains with a sky fading red to black. The fodder/enemies/bad guys attacking your featured character should have some sort of resemblance to the picture below. You can draw these characters in any style you desire, any color (or grayscale), any additional features, any weapons. Just keep this general design.
EDIT #2: I was originally planning on everyone animating simultaneously and loosely linking each part to the next. This would prevent anyone's work from being hampered by the preceding artist. There's still plenty of time to decide what we want to do, though. What are your thoughts?
EDIT #3: Delamortes just sent me a proposal for his piece. He made a very basic animatic of how his character picks up the package, fights, and relays the package. I want everyone to do this so I can coordinate which parts which come after which. Thank you.
