Should consider having all your precious stuff on a USB cabble, Mem stick or a Disc (as backup for Vireses, missing files, deleted file, lost files, acidentally deleting them etc.

This happened to me a lot. In all cases, the problem was solved by simply opening the file directly from Windows Explorer or Recent Documents, or waiting a while and trying again.
