Alpha-Nuva's News

Sorry to anyone who was expecting a post about Paradigmadness II. Gotta blow my own zone up first.

At long last, I've finished the structural animation for Stainville 3. Scott's currently doing audio while Andrew, the third guy in our trio, is doing coloring. We should see the cartoon out by mid-May at the latest - hopefully, sooner than that. Be sure to drop in and give us a fair, unbiased 5.

Also, here's a kid sniffing something. But just what is he sniffing?

Stainville 3's almost here!

It's time. Time to start recruiting members for Paradigmadness II. I'm hoping to see some faces from last year, as well as some new ones.

Still keeping the same format as last year: the movie will start out with an intro, followed by a sequence of separate parts created by other animators, filling out a story. This year, however, I have a solid story that I want to complete!

Animators will be split up into 3 teams, each animating a respective character whose stories all intertwine. with each other. This will limit the creativity that we had last year, but will allow us to animate more directly and effectively, as we will have a set plan rather than parts that roughly link together.

The idea is to animate Seeker, Edgar, and Newton as they travel through the underground facility and ultimately complete their mission. So, in effect, this movie will be Paradigmadness II/Rebooting the Madness 3 all wrapped into one movie.

As we did last year, only the best Madness tribute animators may sign up for this. If you feel you qualify, write a comment or leave me a PM. If you were on the team or invited last year, consider this an automatic invitation to return. Hopefully, this year, we can get some responses from the greats of NG.

Can't say I've been all that busy lately, but I haven't been sitting on my ass as much as I normally do. Been trying to make some money lately and it's been interfering with stuff that I'd normally be doing, like Stainville and all those crazy toons I make for you people. I'm also in the process of getting an apartment/living on my own/being a big boy, so the $$ is necessary. If you have any experience with that or just want to simply wish me luck, all PMs are appreciated.

In other news, Scott/Scoota/Scotlank/DISNIKKAWHOCANTCHOOSEANAME is trying to ignite his rap career. He recently made a SoundCloud where he posts his stuff. If you're a fan of 90s hip-hop, a musician yourself, or even a fan of Stainville, you should give his stuff a listen and show him some love.

Again, his SoundCloud is https://soundcloud.com/scootathemc. Leave him a comment and a fave.

I'm still chipping away at Stainville. Like I said, money has set Episode 3 on the backburner. However, all of the lines are recorded - silly, high-pitched ad-libbing included. I've also made it a point to return to the writing roots that made Episode 1 so funny. It's not completely there, but it'll definitely have a hint of that gritty, weird Episode 1 flavor.

Later in the year, I don't plan for much. My main focuses after Stainville will probably be Paradigmadness II (sorry, still no Redness, although I haven't forgotten about it), and possibly a winter piece from myself, Scoota, and Proj. If I have time for anything else, I'mma try and drop it in.

I know you guys are probably itching for a picture, but I don't really have one, atm. I'll try and upload one in the next few days.

Just went through my old laptop. Looked at a bunch of files and shit that I made from around 2010. Even though I've come a long way since then, I'm still surprised about the quality of some things. One thing in particular was the old "Carnage of the Bells" intro I'd made. Before I made Carnage in 2011, I had started, and subsequently left unfinished, an earlier version back in 2010. They've got their similarities and differences - it'd be interesting to see how the toon would've progressed if I kept the original style. Tell me what YOU think!

I was invited by PuffballsUnited to make a short clip for the 2012 Newgrounds Advent Calendar. My part won't be ready until the 15th, but in the meantime, check out the other little clips in there!

Slender Snap didn't last long for Halloween, but whatevs, it got some decent publicity. I can only cross my fingers and hope that by some small chance I'll snag at least fifth place.

In the meantime, fuck animating. I'm BANE now, bitches!

Rebooting the Madness 2 is far from finished. I've been working dilligently the past couple of days to get as much work done. Fortunately, work's going plenty faster than before. Rather than working on main file, I copied the scenes into separate .flas. This prevents Flash from lagging while I work, making animating significantly easier.

As far as the collaboration goes, only four collaborators still remain. These four, however, have done some real work, trying to complete their parts, as well as extend them in order to increase the collaboration's runtime. DIMB has demonstrated some strong dedication and work ethic, slamming out several hundred frames within the last day - of his own volition, no less. Kudos to him.

Two out of the four parts are already completed, so I'm confident this piece will make it for Saturday. Whether Reboot 2 makes it or not, this Madness Day is sure to be a sight not to miss.

Final Update before MD2012
